Terms & Conditions for Rental Payment Reporting Services

Effective Date: 11/18/2025


1. Overview of This Service

These Terms & Conditions explain how Rental Kharma provides payment reporting services to you (“you” or “member”). By signing up, you give Rental Kharma permission to collect and share information about certain payments you make, such as monthly rental payments, with TransUnion and Equifax.

Our goal is to help you build and improve your credit profile by reporting verified payment data.


2. What Rental Kharma Does

Rental Kharma is a third-party data furnisher. That means:

  • We collect your payment information from the sources you authorize.

  • We verify the accuracy of that information.

  • We furnish (send) the information to TransUnion and Equifax, two of the major credit bureaus.

  • TransUnion and Equifax may include this information in your credit file according to their policies.

We do not create your credit report, make credit decisions, or guarantee any specific score change.


3. Your Authorization & Consent

By enrolling in this service, you:

  1. Give Rental Kharma permission to collect, verify, store, and share your payment data with TransUnion and Equifax.

  2. Confirm that the information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.

  3. Authorize us to communicate with your landlord, utility provider, or other billers as needed to verify your payment history or address longevity.

  4. Understand that reporting is subject to TransUnion and Equifax’s acceptances and policies.

You may revoke this authorization at any time by contacting us, but any data previously reported may remain in your credit file as part of your credit history.


4. What We Report

We may report:

  • On-time payments

  • Past-due payments

  • Missed payments

  • Start and end dates for accounts

  • Other relevant account information permitted under credit reporting guidelines

We will never report anything you did not authorize us to verify and furnish.


5. Your Responsibilities

To use our service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal and account information

  • Update us if your address, payment source, or provider changes

  • Pay any applicable service fees

  • Respond to verification inquiries when needed

If you give incorrect or incomplete information, we may be unable to report your payments.


6. Accuracy & Disputes

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe we reported something incorrectly:

  1. Contact us at: [email protected]

  2. We will investigate the issue as required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

  3. If an error is confirmed, we will promptly correct or update the information with TransUnion and/or Equifax.

You may also dispute information directly with TransUnion or Equifax.


7. No Guaranteed Outcomes

While many members see positive results from payment reporting, you understand and agree that:

  • Rental Kharma cannot guarantee an increase in your credit score

  • TransUnion, Equifax and lenders may use your information differently

  • Credit score impact varies based on your full credit profile

90-Day Money Back Guarantee

Once your rent is reported, if you are not satisfied with the results within the first 90 days, we will refund your registration fee and monthly membership fees.

A member is eligible to receive a full refund for the verification fee if we are unable to verify their rental payment history, unless for specific reasons stated below under “NO REFUNDS”.

Any expedited reporting fees paid are non-refundable.

ALL Refund Requests must be made within 90 days of our first reporting your rent to the credit bureau(s). Refund requests made after the 90 days will not be processed.

How to request a refund

  • Refunds are processed within 1-3 business days of the request.

  • It can take 7-10 days for a refund to show up on your bank or credit card account.

NO REFUNDS IF:

  • If you attempt to provide false information to our company.

  • If you attempted to report a private mortgage.

  • If you attempted to report an illegal or unverifiable sublease.

  • If you attempted to report a commercial property.


8. Service Fees

Any fees charged for this service are for:

  • Verification of your payment information

  • Data furnishing to TransUnion and Equifax

  • Customer support and account management

All fees will be clearly disclosed before enrollment.

No Contract

  • There is no contract for this service.

  • Ongoing monthly reporting can be canceled at any time

  • No minimum commitments or cancellation fees. However, the rent reporting account will close on your credit reports, which will have an impact on your credit score.


9. Privacy & Data Protection

We protect your data using industry-standard security practices. Your information is only shared with TransUnion, Equifax or third-party service partners who support verification and reporting. We do not sell your personal or financial information.

Information We Collect

To provide rent reporting, we need certain identifying details, such as:

  • Your name

  • Date of birth

  • Current address

  • Your landlord or property manager’s name

  • Landlord or property manager’s phone number or email address.

This information helps us accurately verify your rental payments and ensure they are reported correctly.

How We Use Your Information

  • We confirm your identity and information using your name, date of birth and address to get your Social Security number from TransUnion directly.

  • Documentation may be required to prove your identity or address longevity.

  • We contact your landlord or property manager to verify your rental history.

  • Verified rental payment data is submitted to the credit bureaus for inclusion in your credit file.

  • Your information is used only for delivering and supporting the rental payment reporting service.

  • If you were referred to Rental Kharma by a partner (such as a realtor or lender) and used their partner code, we may let them know that you enrolled.


10. Cancellation

You may cancel your service at any time by contacting us. Once canceled:

  • We will stop furnishing new data

  • The account(s) will close on your credit reports

  • Previously reported information may remain in your credit history according to standard reporting rules.


11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you before they take effect. Continued use of the service means you agree to the updated Terms.
